GJ Banks (IW) Ltd, Conservation Building Contractors in Cowes, IoW

G J Banks (IW) Ltd was established by Geoff Banks in 1981 and is a family run Cowes based business renowned for its high quality of workmanship and attention to detail.

The company specialises in stonework repairs, repairs and refurbishment of historical buildings, churches and period properties. One of our regular clients is English Heritage.

Over the last two decades we have been involved in restoration works to many island churches. We have worked on over half the churches on Isle of Wight and also undertake mainland Church restoration works. Works are undertaken under the direction of conservation architects and English Heritage using only approved historic methods of repair.

For our base of private clients we undertake high quality refurbishment and extension works, often with stone repairs. We have worked on many of the Island manor houses and Listed residential properties. Works include period renovations mixed with contemporary extensions and refurbishments.

In addition to this the company has a strong background of insurance related repairs, specialising in underpinning, piling works, structural repairs and fire damage works, with our specialist knowledge taking us all over southern England for subsidence repairs.
